This was 2nd time in this shop. Both times looking to purchase a gun. After getting my CCW License I went to his shop. My friend spoke highly of Mike the owner. So my friend and I and my Aunt went to look at the guns. I was trying to get an idea of what I wanted, so I looked at several and decided to wait. I was about to have hand surgery, and I didn't want to buy something and it not feeling right in my hand later. Mike waited on us for a little while, but after looking at the 3rd gun, he had another man take over. I didn't think anything of it. The other man was more patient and explained the guns better to me. I appreciated that.
So I had the surgery. Several months later I went back up to the shop. This time I went with a dear friend, who is like a dad to me, who knew and had done business with Mike. My Aunt and my friends Grandson went too. Again, I'm shopping and looking at the guns, trying to make a decision. Pop was helping me make decisions as well. Mike was the only one in the shop. He waited on us. Showing us whatever I wanted to see. Then other customers were coming into the store. Well Mike's demeanor changed. He no longer wanted to wait on us. He lost his patience. I wanted to see another gun and he asked me "I could see it as long as I promised not to point the gun at him and fan it around." I said well of course I promise that. I wasn't doing that anyway. I looked at him oddly for saying something like that. Then I felt in easy being there. I was no longer comfortable with him. So he took the gun out, opened it up and handed it to me. Just like he did the others. As I was observing the gun, pointing it at the wall, getting the feel of the gun, he took it away from me and said "Ok, hand it here!" He took it from me and put it back in the gun case. He then went and got a business card and told me to go get lessons on how to handle a gun. I told him I already had lessons. He said that whoever taught me didn't do a good job. We all looked at him like he was crazy! My friend, who's like a dad to me said "honey, don't worry about that. Let it go." Well, I couldn't. He just embarrassed me in front of everyone. I didn't do anything wrong. Mike's claim was that I was "pointing the gun at him and fanning the gun around." That was crazy!! I'd never do such a thing! I told him I wasn't doing that. What the hell was he talking about? We all didn't know what the hell was wrong with him! He walked away. If he was a good salesman/knowledgeable/patient, he could have just said, Mam, I like to show you this or that. Instead of being rude. Well, I got it....I'm a woman. I wasn't making my mind up quick enough for him. He didn't want to wait on me anymore. He wanted to talk to his friend that came in instead of being a good salesperson with patience and make $400 on a gun. So, to get rid of me, he chose to insult me and make me look foolish. My "Pop" was really disappointed in Mike's actions. He'd been in his shop many times and this is how he treats his one of his good friends! Ya know, if I was really doing something wrong, Pop would have instructed me. He knows about guns. He was right there with me helping. Pop said Mike was out of line. He was really disappointed in his actions. Needless to say I didn't buy anything from him. I won't ever darken his door again. I know he doesn't give a rats ass anyway. But for me, it hurt. I like to patronize the businesses at home instead of going to the big stores. Chalk it up as a bad experience. When they go low, I go high!! Bye Mike, you're the one that missed out on $400. Now, off to the city to spend my money!!
